De Kolk

We stayed at the Jonghe Dominus yesterday, but I went for a walk around the Nieuwezijds Kolk to see what the deal is with the prices on a little square in the heart of Amsterdam.
De Jonge Dominus has Heineken on tap for €2,00. Its a nice little cafe with 2 floors and a terrace. Something else quite nice is their Wieckse Rosé. Also from tap this is a lager with cherry juice in in (at least that's what it tastes like).
Next to De Jonghe Dominus is a new complex with a big fitnessclub, and a hotel. Below the hotel is a restaurant/bar : Five Bells.... They have Grolsch for €2,00 and it doesn't look like a place you'd hang out for a long time. Akhnaton is a place you can dance (I think). I didn't go in but the guy at the door told me Grolsch is €2.20. In "In de Wildeman" they have 100's of bottled beers and quite a few different ones on tap. Great place if you are a beer lover. Hertog Jan (their main beer) goes for €2,00 too... Mooy (opposite in de Wildeman) has Heineken for €2,00 but no one was inside when I got there.....
Then there are 2 more places where you can get beer. Places where men come together and have sex with each other (so I've heard). The Cuckoosnest and the Web.... I popped in just to ask the leatherguy behind the bar how much beer was and then left.... (Heineken, €2.00)
In the afternoon Sarah went to the Tokyo cafe on the spui and would have had to pay €2,80 for a beer.... Does this mean the Spui is a lot more expensive then the Kolk? We'll see....
